Double layer straight condenser is a glass instrument widely used in chemical experiments. It is mainly used to cool hot steam and condense it into liquid to achieve reflux, distillation and other operations. It consists of two concentric glass tubes. The inner tube is the steam channel, in which the hot steam to be cooled flows. An annular cooling channel is formed between the outer tube and the inner tube, which is used to pass cooling water, and the heat is taken away by the cooling water circulation to achieve cooling of the hot steam. Both ends of the condenser have standard ground joints. This ground joint interface has uniform sizes and specifications, such as the common 14#, 19#, 24#, etc. Through the standard ground joint, it can be easily and tightly connected with other glass instruments with the same specifications of ground joints, such as flasks, distillation heads, connecting pipes, etc., to form a complete experimental device.When conducting an experiment, the hot steam that needs to be cooled enters from one end of the inner tube and flows along the inner tube under the action of gravity and airflow. At the same time, cooling water enters from the lower end of the outer tube and flows from bottom to top in the annular cooling channel, forming a counter current with the hot steam in the inner tube. The cooling and condensation process of the steam is realized. The standard ground joint design is tightly connected to other instruments, which can effectively prevent gas or liquid leakage during the experiment and ensure the accuracy and safety of the experiment. It is highly versatile and easy to clean.

Double layer straight condenser is made of high borosilicate glass, which is acid-proof, alkali-proof and high-temperature resistant. The surface is smooth, beautiful and elegant without bulges, and the material is transparent. The taper is strictly in accordance with the national standard, and the frosting is fine to ensure that each grinding joint is consistent. The hand-made glass tube is thickened and has strong light transmittance. The lathe is auxiliary welded at 1100°C and annealed at 600°C,the furnace is kept warm until natural cooling.
