Product features
The cylindrical nitrogen bulb form is a kind of glass instrument used in chemical experiments to increase gas exchange and prevent the splashing of distillates. The main body is a straight cylindrical glass tube with a diameter of 45mm, and there is a branch pipe welded at each of the upper and lower ends of the tube body. The upper branch pipe is bent at an angle of 75° and is used to connect to the condenser tube; the lower branch pipe is a straight glass tube with a 45° beveled end at the tail, which is used to connect to the distillation flask.
Inside the tube, there is a bent branch pipe welded at each of the upper and lower ends, which are respectively connected to the upper and lower branch pipes. The direction of the pipe opening of the upper bent pipe inside the tube is opposite to that of the upper branch pipe on the tube body, and the direction of the pipe opening of the lower bent pipe inside the tube is opposite to that of the bent pipe of the upper branch pipe, which is used to block the splashing of the distillation liquid. There are small holes at the inner core tube connected to the lower branch pipe at the bottom of the tube, through which the liquid remaining in the tube can flow back into the bottle along the small holes to prevent splashing.
During the distillation process, the generated steam enters the nitrogen bulb through the lower branch pipe, and after being guided by the internal space and the bent branch pipes, it enters the condenser tube through the upper branch pipe. In this process, the nitrogen bulb provides a relatively large gas exchange space, enabling the steam to fully exchange heat with the surrounding environment, which is conducive to the condensation and reflux of the steam and improves the distillation efficiency. At the same time, it also helps to balance the pressure in the distillation system and ensure the smooth progress of the distillation process.

Product applications
Determination of Protein Content by Kjeldahl Method: In fields such as food, feed, and biological products, the Kjeldahl method is commonly used to determine the protein content in samples. It is usually made into a standard-mouth nitrogen bulb. The standard-mouth cylindrical nitrogen bulb is an important part of the Kjeldahl nitrogen distillation device. It can ensure that during the distillation process, the nitrogen elements in the sample are completely converted into ammonia gas and are fully absorbed by the absorbing solution, so as to accurately determine the protein content.
Determination of Volatile Acids: In industries such as food and beverages, it is necessary to determine the content of volatile acids in samples. The standard-mouth cylindrical nitrogen bulb can be used in the device for determining volatile acids. During the distillation process, it plays a role in preventing the loss of volatile acids and improving the accuracy of the determination.
Other Distillation Experiments: In some chemical experiments that require distillation operations, such as distilling water to improve the purity of distilled water, and the distillation separation of organic substances, etc., the standard-mouth cylindrical nitrogen bulb can also be used to increase gas exchange, prevent the splashing of distillates, and ensure the smooth progress of the distillation process and the accuracy of the experimental results.
